Robert Savoie takes a special interest in improving communities through education and literacy and dedicates many hours to this cause, including serving a treasurer for the Peter Gzowski Invitational Golf Tournaments for Literacy in New Brunswick.

The PGI tournaments in New Brunswick support the Literacy Coalition of New Brunswick, which provides leadership to advance literacy, lifelong learning and essential skills for all residents of the province.

The Literacy Coalition of New Brunswick  (LCNB) was formed in 1988 when stakeholders decided there was a need for a multi-sectoral literacy organization. Since then, the LCNB has carried out projects in the areas of literacy, developing learning materials, improving public awareness and much more.
